My daily routine in the hospital is pretty monotonous. Aside from changing the antibiotic infusions, taking my ten pills each day, and the meals plus the afternoon snack, there isn’t much to do. Since I’m hooked up to three tubes, moving around has also become quite tricky. Every now and then, I go to the “Lounge,” a nicely furnished area with a (non-alcoholic) bar, it at least lets me get out of my room for a bit.
On Tuesday, I had a visit from Marco, a fellow biker friend from Zurich. He’s retired too, so he has time to drop by. His visit really lifted my spirits. In the evening, Deniz came as well, bringing a big bag full of treats, cakes, crisps, popcorn, and a mix of nuts and dried fruits!
For the past few days, I’ve had a mild headache. It’s not very intense but still quite bothersome. After discussing it, a doctor from the anaesthesia department came to explain the possible causes. The drain in my neck is well positioned, as the ultrasound showed, so it’s unlikely to be related. However, the high dose of antibiotics, especially the vancomycin, could be the reason.
