These days, my thoughts are with Morocco and its people who are suffering the consequences of this terrible earthquake. The few contacts I have in the country, naturally connected to my recent trip, mainly involve the tourism sector, which is so vital to the local economy. Indeed, over 11 million tourists visit this beautiful country each year, bringing in essential foreign currency for the population.
It’s understandable that, in such circumstances, the country needs time to heal its wounds. But the Moroccan people are deeply resilient, and I am convinced they will rise again.
The film Morocco from the Sky by Yann Arthus-Bertrand is simply stunning. Through the bright and poetic eye of his camera, we discover scenes of everyday life, breathtaking nature, and the rich cultural heritage of this country. The aerial shots are pure enchantment. I hope this film will inspire some of you who may still be hesitating to take the plunge and visit this land of a thousand faces. Moroccans are known for their exceptional hospitality, as a visitor, you always feel warmly and kindly welcomed.
Unfortunately, the film’s narration is only available in French, which is a pity for my German- or English-speaking readers. Yet it provides valuable insight into Morocco’s history, culture, and traditions.
I wish you a wonderful moment of discovery and reflection.
Enjoy the film!
