Today, Friday, I underwent another surgery. The anaesthetic was partial but effective enough to ensure a certain level of comfort. The noises in an operating theatre aren’t always the most pleasant for a patient…

They reinforced the stabilisation of my tibia and fibula with screws and a metal plate, plus a foot splint held in place with a wire. This time, it really should hold!

The procedure went well. I didn’t feel any pain, and as soon as I was back in my room, I was very hungry. So I quickly had a meal, followed later by a snack.

I’m receiving antibiotic infusions three times a day, along with tablets to relieve pain and reduce inflammation.

My friends at the hospital in Midelt keep sending me messages to check on me, it’s really touching. My contacts in Switzerland are also very supportive with their messages. Thank you all!

Here at Sonnenhof, the staff are incredibly attentive, always anticipating my needs and wishes. The care is obviously on a whole different level compared to Morocco, where resources are not comparable. Just as a reminder, I paid barely 12 CHF there, whereas here the bill will run into several thousands of euros!
