Being stuck at home all the time is really starting to get me down. Yesterday, my mum and Deniz went strawberry picking in a field near Bern. I so wished I could have gone with them, but it’s just not possible right now. The strawberries were excellent, big, ripe, and delicious, nothing like the supermarket ones. Being stuck inside while the sun is shining so beautifully outside is much harder than I thought. How do you find the motivation to keep busy when the weather is that good?

On the bright side, Rita-Maria came to visit since she had the day off. We enjoyed an drink on the balcony. What a joy!

Two years ago, I had back surgery, they fused the L5/S1 vertebrae and implanted a titanium device. It was a total success! Even though it was a complex operation, I found the immobility easier to cope with back then. With my back, I just had to avoid lifting heavy things, but I could still get around without trouble. With my foot in plaster and unable to put any weight on it, my mobility is really limited.

On Monday, I’m going back to hospital to have my dressing changed, and on the 28th I’ll see my surgeon and get an X-Ray. I’m hoping for good news, that I’ll be able to start putting my foot down little by little and bearing some weight on it.

Last night, my scars itched badly. They say that’s a good sign, a sign the wounds are healing, but it kept me awake.
