During the barbecue evening in the garden, Prof. Dr. Auer (https://www.gemeinschaftspraxis-brunnmatt.ch/team/reto-auer), my GP whose practice is in the same building as my apartment, dropped by. We had a long discussion about the situation with KPT. He advised me to write to the Chairman of the Board, Mr Bosshard, which I did. I’m not very hopeful though, as this company is completely ineffective. So, once again, if you’re insured with KPT, change your insurance as soon as possible, they’re a bunch of incompetents!

 

I’ve just received in my mailbox the long-awaited response from KPT. Right from the start, they blame me... KPT claims they have no proof that I tried to contact them to report the incident in Morocco (which is untrue: I sent them a screenshot of my phone’s call log, a copy of the chat, and an E-Mail to my KPT advisor). According to them, using the chat is not intended for this type of case and isn’t handled by KPT, so they don’t consider themselves responsible. They also refuse to cover the costs for food during the stay at the hospital in Morocco and the home help, which is obviously wrong! However, they are refunding me the travel insurance premium (50.50 CHF) as a final settlement. I’m not going to accept this, as this gesture means they refuse any responsibility.

 

I have forwarded all this information to my legal protection insurance to strengthen my case. I’m eagerly awaiting their response.
