Departure: Berne – Pont-du-Gard

Today, I set off on a new journey. I left Bern at 9:00 am under a grey sky, heading towards Geneva. Before crossing the border, I filled up the tank, then continued on the A41 motorway towards Annecy. From there, I took the A49 towards Valence, before joining the A7, the Autoroute du Soleil, where, true to its name, the sun finally made an appearance. I followed it all the way to Bollène, where I stopped for fuel, then carried on along the A9 towards the Pont du Gard.

I spent the night at the guesthouse Les Marguerites, located at 136 Chemin des Abeilles, 30210 Vers-Pont-du-Gard (bookable via Booking.com or directly by email at el.gombault@gmail.com). The host was exceptionally welcoming and gave me plenty of useful tips for exploring the area.

For dinner, I went to Uzès (https://www.uzes-pontdugard.com/), a beautiful and very well-preserved village, featuring an old castle at its heart and the charming Place aux Herbes, the perfect spot to enjoy regional specialties.

Today, I covered 535 kilometres in 5 hours and 50 minutes.
