Tamri – Sidi Bibi

This morning, I woke up around 7:30 after a calm and restful night. I had planned to leave around 8:30 or 9:00 to get to the Agadir garage at a reasonable hour. But no one was at the hotel yet, so I had to wait until 9:30 before the staff arrived and prepared my breakfast. I paid 400 MAD, about 35 CHF for the night, last night’s snack (bread, cheese, argan oil, olives, and mint tea), three coffees, and this morning’s breakfast.

I left La Bananeraie around 10:30 and followed the Atlantic coast towards Agadir. The road was shrouded in morning mist, making it feel like autumn!

In Agadir, I went to the Honda garage recommended by my Swiss agent, but they weren’t very welcoming, they had no appointment for me and no time to spare. So I headed to the Yamaha dealer who had contacted me yesterday. They offered me a coffee just next door while a mechanic worked on my rear brake right on the pavement. He replaced the pads, then suggested a test ride. Unfortunately, the brake still didn’t work. Back at the garage, they bled the hydraulic system, and this time it worked perfectly! The whole service cost me 400 MAD, the same as my hotel night.

I took the chance to eat a chicken sandwich, then left Agadir heading south for a short trip. I followed my GPS without knowing where I’d end up. Lost in the countryside, I arrived at Camping Takat (https://g.co/kgs/SMq3uvB). It’s a lovely site run by Monique, who greeted me warmly. The campsite mainly caters to mobile homes. There’s no lawn or much shade, but to my pleasant surprise, behind reception there’s a nice pool surrounded by grass for sun loungers. Monique invited me to settle there since there aren’t many guests. I set up under an olive tree and started unpacking.

While pitching my tent, a curious tortoise came to visit, very interested in my gear! I’ll be staying two nights here, enjoying the pool and preparing for my journey to Tiznit and the southeast.

A routine is settling in, and I don’t want to rush after kilometres but rather enjoy the country and the wonderfully warm hospitality of the Moroccan people so far!

The campsite also offers meals, which I’ll probably take advantage of, as the nearest shops are quite far away.

Today, I covered 90.6 kilometres in 1 hour and 55 minutes.
